About us

The Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic is a state-funded institution specialising in diplomatic education and training.

The Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs builds on the Ministry’s staff training programme, which has been in place since 1997. Since then, nearly 300 diplomats have completed the basic diplomatic training programme and now serve in the Czech foreign service.

Our activities

• preparing officials for diplomatic service and supporting their professional development throughout their careers, both in Czechia and abroad
• delivering specialised diplomatic training programmes for public administration, international partners and private companies
• supporting Czech candidates in pursuing careers in EU institutions and international organisations
• cooperating with partner institutions worldwide

International cooperation

• developing international cooperation through partnerships with diplomatic institutions, in line with the priorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
• promoting the exchange of best practices and providing training programmes for foreign diplomats, sharing Czech experience in EU integration with candidate countries and supporting their progress towards EU membership
• participating in leading international diplomatic platforms, including the European Diplomatic Academy, the European Diplomatic Programme and the Global Diplomatic Forum, strengthening Czechia’s role in international diplomacy
