The Diplomatic Academy of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DA MFA) provides education and training, primarily to meet the Ministry’s needs, but its mandate is wider. Established by the Ministry as a separate institution in 2023, the Academy prepares the staff for the diplomatic service, offers tutoring before posting with international organizations and missions, and administers programmes of life-long education. DA MFA also provides training to individuals applying for jobs in the EU institutions. In the near future, it will be ready to offer courses to civil servants throughout the Czech public administration and run more public activities related to education in diplomacy and foreign service.

The DA MFA follows on and develops the professional training of Czech diplomats that has existed under similar names and in various forms at the Ministry since 1997. It acts as a partner for educational organizations at or related to the foreign ministries of other countries, having taken over the memoranda of cooperation with similar foreign institutions concluded by its predecessors in past years.

DA MFA is located in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Trauttmansdorff Palace in Prague – Hradčany.
